NETWORK OPERATIONS BROADCAST ENGINEER
EUROVISION AMERICAS Inc. is presently looking for a committed and experienced Network Operations Engineer to work in its Washington, DC Technical Operating Center (TOC).

As part of the TOC and Engineering team, you will be working with senior international engineers specialized in global media Tier-1 sports and news content. The applicants will be part of a talented and motivated core team that will support Eurovision Services in delivering the most innovative and reliable services for our customers in the Americas and around the world.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Eurovision Americas is looking for an experienced Broadcast Network Operations Engineer to work in its Washington, DC technical operations center.
Duties will include:
- Supervising live news and sports transmissions through the Eurovision Washington, DC technical operations center;
- Encoding, decoding, standards converting and routing signals to distribute top-level live sports around the world by satellite and fiber;
- Setting up satellite dishes to uplink and downlink news and live sports events;
- Operate ASI and SRT/IP routing and decoding
- Understand and be able to configure IT devices and Network Elements.
- Work with a small Team of highly skilled Broadcast and IT Engineers to help Maintain, expand and support our broadcast center in Washington DC and New York City.
- Be able to travel to remote site Co-location facilities to troubleshoot or expand network elements
The work involves extensive liaison with major local and international TV networks and sports leagues and as such, excellent customer service skills and an ability to troubleshoot with logic and patience are primary requirements of the job. Ability to work under pressure and attention to details are also key to succeed in this role.
The successful candidate will work on a 24/7 roster either as part of a team or independently at less busy times. Normally shifts are 8 or 10 hours in length, and an average of 40 hours per week is worked. Night work is compensated by additional time off. The Candidate will need to be flexibility in scheduling passed on breaking news and additional coverage when needed.

Additional experience in the following areas would be a bonus:
- Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed and international teams (our headquarters are located in Switzerland)
- Have experience in IP contribution and distribution formats to include SMPTE 2110, IP Multicast streams, SRT and Fiber optic network systems.

- Training will take from three to six months, to assimilate facilities, network structure, operating procedures and tools and clients’ needs,
EDUCATION
Preferably a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or similar degree.
