MCR Operator
Eurovision Services is seeking a highly motivated MCR Operator to be part of our Production Hub, based in Madrid.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
As an MCR Operator, you will be responsible for running the operations at the Eurovision Services Production Hub during Sport Events, in coordination with the different operating parties. In details you will:
- Manage the set-up, monitoring and coordination of the daily activities at the Production Hub
- Provide outstanding first line technical support (Level 1 and Level 2) and troubleshooting the services and equipment
- Report faults and modifications made on the team’s equipment
- Ensure consistent high quality of our services and take temporary measures to ensure the business continuity of our broadcast services
- Provide technical feedback and incident reporting to other units
- Document workflows and networks designs, applying preventive maintenances procedures to avoid possible outages
- Provide outstanding customer service to all clients (internal and external).
In this position, you will be required to work on shifts, including weekends, overnight, and on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of proven experience operating and monitoring broadcast systems (satellite communications, fibre, streaming), signal switching and processing, and broadcast equipment and infrastructure
- Excellent management of video and audio formats
- Knowledge of HDR-SDR conversion systems and QC workflows
- Excellent management of signal switching and processing: SMPTE ST2110, standard conversion, monitoring systems, and quality assurance of video signals
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and broadcast equipment like video routers, waveform monitors, vector scopes
- Knowledge of broadcast production (audio, video, graphics)
- Experience identifying and resolving common broadcast issues (signal quality problems, black frames, audio loss, etc.)
- Ability to quickly determine and isolate problem’s sources, easily handling redundancy switching and failover mechanisms
- Stress management, problem-solving skills and customer orientation
- Collaboration, proactivity, and strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently or with limited supervision
- Proficiency in Spanish (mandatory)
- Required level of English: minimum intermediate.
