MCR Supervisor
Eurovision Services is seeking a highly motivated MCR Supervisor to oversee the Master Control Room's daily activities at our Production Hub, based in Madrid.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
As an MCR Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the assigned control room, coordinating daily activities, and defining workflows and best practices for the team. The selected person must also monitor team performance and propose measures to improve KPIs, while maintaining consistent communication with both the team and other divisions within the Operations Department.
The MCR Supervisor will be responsible for the following activities:
- Overseeing the team in the setup, installation, and coordination of real-time TV transmission traffic
- Defining, implementing, and maintaining technical workflows for lineup and operations between local and remote parties
- Developing and maintaining effective working practices, and implementing and improving operational procedures
- Ensuring that the established technical standards are respected
- Monitoring predefined resource allocation, having a global view of the upcoming projects
- Reassigning resources and making decisions in response to unexpected equipment behavior or unforeseen circumstances
- Providing guidance to ensure customer satisfaction and appropriate professional behavior in all situations
- Managing fault reporting and equipment change requests for the Eurovision Control Room and other critical technical points across our network
- Supporting the direct manager in performance evaluations, team meetings, and decision-making processes
- Ensuring optimal allocation of resources and tasks, with appropriate follow-up
- Taking temporary measures to ensure service continuity, when needed
- Training the team to maintain consistent, high-quality service through active monitoring and assurance of service integrity
- Guiding staff in logging incidents into our operating systems for internal follow-up and external customer reporting
- Occasionally participating in event projects to provide technical guidance and engineering solutions
- Occasionally taking part in external missions, acting as a technical coordinator, engineer, or engineer-in-charge
In this position, you will be required to work on shifts, including weekends, overnight, and on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of proven experience working as a Broadcast Operator within an MCR
- 2+ years of proven experience in a supervisor/team leader position within an MCR
- Proven experience with broadcast systems, including fibre, SRT, satellite communications, and streaming
- Ability to troubleshoot problems through to resolution, escalating issues and recommendations to the Product Management team
- Proven experience with video over IP, SMPTE ST 2110, and PTP, with the ability to operate, analyze, and troubleshoot these systems
- Proven experience with video format standards and audio processing
- Familiarity with broadcast production workflows and terminology
- Ability to monitor and validate video and audio broadcast quality standards
- Knowledge of video colorimetry and HDR-to-SDR conversion workflow
- Strong computer skills, including networking, streaming, and first-line maintenance
- Project management experience will be considered a plus

- Proficiency in Spanish (mandatory)
- Required level of English: minimum advanced
