Project Leader - Live Events
Eurovision Services is seeking a motivated Project Leader to become part of our Event Delivery Team. The successful candidate will be part of the Operations division in Madrid, Spain.
ABOUT THE ES OPERATIONS TEAM
The Operations department serves as the central point of contact for all customers receiving operational services. The team manages the requirements and delivery of our transmission and media services for all events, coordinating with our customers and partners (e.g., media organizations, sports federations, and event enterprises). The ES Operations Team is responsible for delivering high-quality services, achieving ambitious operational objectives, and implementing reliable solutions to provide outstanding value to our customers while optimizing costs to improve our bottom line.
The Project Leader's mission is to ensure that the broadcast solutions for designated events are delivered efficiently by the Operations team, meeting the defined expectations and scope while ensuring an excellent customer experience.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
As Project Leader, you will:
- Once allocated to a won opportunity, take control of all aspects of the project, understand the delivery scope and decompose it in human, financial and material requirements.
- Establish the project timeline and milestones for all involved parties, tracking and following-up on them.
- Set up project competencies needs and request the necessary team member accordingly.
- Contribute to the development of the team’s methodology and documentation.
- Start and follow the project implementation by following the predefined methodology, phases and status.
- List necessary tasks and track them to ensure completion in a timely manner.
- Perform transparent and efficient communication within the project team and ensure all project members are in line with a common objective and delivery target.
- Drive the project team during all stages of the project delivery.
- Implement regular and systematic status updates/dashboards to customers and management members.
- Assess the risks of all project tasks by establishing a Risk Classification Table, following up, mitigating and escalating them if necessary.
- Perform regular Budget Reviews, target cost-efficiency for all expenses made within the project and always reach financial objectives set by the Manager of PMO.
- Ensure or delegate flawless handover of event aspects to relevant operational teams (Booking, EVC, and others).
- Brief project team on accounting information, Mission Policies, Expenses regulations, specific conditions and ES behaviour policies for staff on the field.
- Ensure a smooth service activation by providing customers with outstanding assistance during activation phase, guaranteeing an efficient on-site setup.
- Follow up on issues and problems encountered during the event and make sure corrective actions are immediately implemented, ensuring customer communication.
- Perform systematic project closure by ensuring logistical and financial aspects are looked at and closed before being handed over to relevant stakeholder (Finance team).
- Ensure a constructive and systematic debrief of each project, structuring the outcome and contributing to the overall improvement plan within PMO.
YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Telecommunications, Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Audiovisual Communication or a related field.
- 5+ Years of experience working in broadcast positions.
- Official Project Management certification would be a plus.
- Proven project management experience, preferably within the broadcast field.
- Experience in venue management, booking, or production on sport events is also considered.
YOUR SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Proven financial literacy and ability to manage budgets efficiently.
- Strong technical and market knowledge of the IT/telecom/broadcasting industry.
- Understanding of broadcast and transmission technologies (satellite, fibre, IP).
- Experience in customer service management and the ability to build customer relations.
- Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed and international teams.
- Demonstration of strong coordination and delivery culture.
- Strong ability to work on multi-project dimensions within fast-paced environments.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
